Wolf River Consulting Awarded Indian Health Service Contract to Provide Methamphetamine and Suicide and Prevention Services

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Service’s Indian Health Service (IHS) recently selected Wolf River Consulting Group LLC to provide visioning and strategic planning services for the Catawba Service Unit’s Methamphetamine and Suicide Prevention Initiative (MSPI), a national program that promotes the use and development of evidence-based and practice-based models through culturally-appropriate, community-driven prevention and treatment approaches.

Under this contract, Wolf River will provide consultation services to the IHS Catawba Service Unit in developing and implementing successful prevention, intervention, and postvention services for suicide, methamphetamine, and other addicting substances to the Catawba Tribal Community and American Indians and Alaska Natives eligible for IHS services. Our team will collaborate with the IHS Catawba Service Unit to facilitate the development of a common vision for a community needs assessment of the tribe’s behavioral health needs and to support the creation of a strategic plan to expand services to comprehensively address substance abuse and suicide prevention. Wolf River will also support the IHS Catawba Service Unit in developing and fostering a data-sharing system among tribal, urban Indian organizations, and federal behavioral health service providers to demonstrate efficacy and impact of efforts.
